Grew up in Köping and Örebro. My main educations consists of a Master in Fine Art Photography at HDK-Valand, Gothenburg university, 2023, a  PhD in theoretical ecology at Lund university 2002, and a master in ecology, also Lund university, 1997. In addition to that I have studied journalism, film, 2 years of freestanding courses in photography, philosophy, and some more.

Both photography and the interest in nature have been with me since the youth. I have many years of work as a scientist, with several expeditions and work primarily in arctic regions. Two longer expeditions to Siberia and several in Sweden and the Nordic countries, but also to Australia and Asia. Much of my work today in photography and art are a combination of all that. 

Today I live and have my base in Skåne, the southernmost part of Sweden.

The focus has successively shifted to man altered landscapes and creations by humans in general. During a period of work, it was more of writing about man made things, science and nature, popular science. Todays work can be seen as a combination of academical writing and working and artistic work. The period in Örebro was important, the friends, Fotograficentrum and Kvismare fågelstation, a very good combination.
